The Suitt Family Reunion began in the Summer of 1999. The first reunion (covered dish) was held in Chapel Hill, NC at the Senior Citizen Center. Since that time, the Suitt Reunion has been held at several locations: the Hilton Hotel, Durham, NC, Luncheon Cruise (Spirit of Norfolk), Virginia, BBQ Barn, Creedmoor, NC, and the Hayti Heritage Center in Durham, NC.
The Reunion Planning Committee Members: Dural Suite - coordinator (current 2011), Christopher Winfield - secretary (current 2011), Jean Suitt Toomer - past coordinator (9 Yrs.), Pat Evans Thomas - treasurer (current), Josephine Burt - past treasurer (9 Yrs.), Alean Farrington - past coordinator (1 Yr) and assistant coordinator (several years), Roy Evans, Laverne White, Past Members: Doug & June Moore, Johnnie Batty & Catherine Dunston.
Interested family members are encourage to get involved.
Ben & Polly Suitt's 12 children are: James, Wellon, Robert, Willie, Fannie Jane, Diana, Vannie, Ida, Frank, Emma, Nolie & Hannah.
